Nola & Pete Present the YLC's "A Streetcar Named Inspire."List of Streetcars by Artist NEW! Now with streetcar addresses!
Reader Judy Reynold's Google map marking the cars' locations is here.

Lori Gomez’s latest entry is sponsored by the Patrick F. Taylor Foundation. It’s on Lee Circle and gets to be admired by everyone on the big boy streetcars going around the circle all day.

Lori Gomez has her latest car (her fifth-a record!) at the Ernest M. Morial Convention Center. Appropriate to its name, “D’autres Mangent Pour: Nous Vivons Pour Mangent” (others eat to live: we live to eat), the streetcar resides in the center’s Atrium Café.

Gerry Claude’s second streetcar is called Throw Me Something Mister (her first car, Jazzy Ride, is here). It’s located on the riverfront, right outside of the Imax theater at the Aquarium of the Americas.

Sharon Young is the artist of this whimsical car entitled “Lakeview: There’s No Place Like Home.” This car is located in front of, and sponsored by, Little Miss Muffin at 766 Harrison Ave in Lakeview.

“Greetings from the French Market Corporation” is artist Will Smith Jr’s second streetcar for the YLC Streetcar Named Inspire project. The sponsor of this car is the French Market Corporation, and the French Market is the future home of this car. Currently it can be found on Decatur Street outside Cafe du Monde in the French Market, at the foot of Gov. Nichols Street.

Famous artist, Saints fan and former New Orleans resident Alex Beard is the artist for this New Orleans’ Saints themed and sponsored streetcar, “Who Dat?” This car can be found outside the Superdome at 1500 Poydras St.

John Lamouranne’s “New Orleans Sports Car” is located at 1450 Poydras St., outside the Dominion Tower.

John Lamouranne’s “Only at Tulane . . . Only in New Orleans” is aptly located at University Center of Tulane, its sponsor. This car can be found on McAlister Dr. between Freret St. and Drill Rd.

The Downtown Development District is the sponsor of Lori Gomez’s “Downtown Streetcar.” This car is aptly located at Basin & Canal (next to the Saenger Theatre)—the future site for the Art Pavilion that will built with the proceeds raised by the YLC’s Streetcar Named Inspire project.
Ms. Gomez describes this streetcar as representing downtown New Orleans through the year:
Starting with Storyville which produced JAZZ legend Louis Armstrong who played at the last two remaining buildings “The Eagle Saloon ” & ” Iroquios Theatre.” Also fashion through the years, the 1st Trolley car and a favorite meeting place, under the CLOCK at D.H. Holmes.
